Did Horner do a rest-day press conference? I haven't read anything, if one did take place.
There probably was no need, he isn't wearing a Sky jersey.
my veiled point being that if lance was doping and chris was doping, doping lance would be your team leader over doping chris
Yup - you pulled the blackout curtains down on that one (from my perspective at least anyway....)
you might have missed my follow up there
obviously how much of certain of those names' palmares is down to pure talent is a matter of some debate
Jonathan Vaughters (twitter): Are you guys discussing the same Chris Horner that chased down Hincapie in final tdf for talking?
Hmmm...pretty much the only American of "that" generation that hasn't fessed up to doping, friend of (and apologist for) Armstrong, 41 years old, putting out 6.3kW/kg on a climb that destroyed a peloton half his age, climbing out of the saddle for 7km with little sign of physical effort, dropping GC contenders such as Nibali, Valverde, Rodriguez, Basso, etc, like they were 41 year old has-beens.
Yep, it's definitely because he's finally been allowed off the leash. By a team that, until recently, was run by Johann Bruyneel.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
Because he is doping.
(sue me)
Maybe he was the best clean DS you could expect on a team of major dopers. Tough to compete against the likes of those he rode for, clean or otherwise.
If he's in this good shape why wasnt he team leader before?with all the data analysis etc surely the DS from the team would identify horner to be the best cyclist to lead
depends to an extent who else is on your team:
2006: cadel evans
2007: cadel evans
2008: alberto contador
2009: alberto contador *and* lance armstrong
2010: lance armstrong
2011: won the tour of california as team leader
2012: andy schleck
so he's had some fairly talented company along the way.
That's a strange definition for talent you have there....how many dopers? There's even a hint/whiff of those that weren't.
Horlicks isn't on the banned substance list... yet.
Clearly he's being spurred on by his memories of the Spanish-American war.
Just sent the wife out to buy a big jar of Horlicks. Well, if it make Chris Honer a GC contender at 42, years of age? It's bound to do something for me at 65, years of age?
Or is it just a load of Ball-ox?? Someone somewhere has discovered an undetectable ELIXIR??
His first GT was only 7 years ago, since then, he's always been a DS to some other rider. Take out the GT's and his record is America is mental, he's won everything
If he can do this at 42... why wasn't he ever a leader 15 years ago when he'd have been in his prime?
Its simple, He's finally got a chance to do something in a grand tour. He is the team leader, he doesn't have to worry about pulling Schleck's nappy up or making sure he's fed and watered.
He can finally able to do his own thing, I think he's always had it in him, just been held back by others
You're right about it being 'simple', but you then you ventured into fantasy land!
