Car crashes into building - please post your Local news stories

Running this one up the flagpole to see who salutes...

I just don't remember this being a thing until recently, now it seems a daily occurrence.
Could it be that there are drivers not up to the job, too many cars; should houses be made to ride in single file, shops put on high viz, why are we putting newer buildings in danger like this, it's irresponsible.

'A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "Dorset Police was called at 12.48pm on Thursday, August 13, to a report of a collision involving a car and a wall outside Iceland on Poole Road in Bournemouth.

"It is reported that the vehicle was also in collision with a pedestrian, but they did not require medical treatment." '

Oh, great, now we can have a 5 page debate on whether a "one vehicle collision" is even a thing.

One wonders why paramedics attended when #nodriverinvolved?

Can't park there mate!  Hang on - have you got your boat licence for that?

That looks like a pretty traumatic event and there have been deaths from people getting trapped in boats in locks.  Going to be a costly fishing trip too.

How on earth? Surely, driving down steps onto a pavement is below the standard of a competent driver?

Here's the street view. I'd suggest parallel parking might have prevented this.

Drama at Swindon garden centre after driver ploughs car into building

“It’s made a mess, Yucca plants everywhere as well as glass”, one stunned shopper said.

Driver arrested after embedding car in Chippenham homeowner’s new fence

Wiltshire 999s understands that the fence was new – having only been installed earlier this year.

This is catching on.

Local councillor David Wilcox tweeted "This story fails to mention that an actual human being was driving this 3 ton steel bludgeon at the time."

#nodriverinvolved.

That's a difficult one to understand - the streets round about are all narrow and many are restricted access through the campus.

And a bit close to home: my daughter has classes in that building. Perhaps fortunately, at this time of year most students are revising or doing coursework rather than lectures.

Those electric vehicles accelerate fast, and have very deliverable power all through the range.

As ktache says. Electric vehicles accelerate really quickly and if you're not used the it they can catch you out. I'm figuring that the driver has pulled out of Park Wynd and buried themselves in the building.

First suggested by HawkinsPeter, they should string cycle helmets along the wall opposite the mouth of Park Wynd.  I have it on good authority from Linda from Facebook that every little helps.

Good thought - I've often wondered why cars don't have ship propellors festooned around their sides to return the favour.  Presumably using bike tyres or even helmets would look too much like ... trophy-taking?

I quite like the idea of that. As it will demonstrate the efficacy of these articles of polystyrene when they seen crushed into oblivion and a hole still punched into the side of the building.

Obviously they should have thought before building it there... accident waiting for the cause of the accident to be invented and happen.

That's unfair.  The driver saw the hi-vis bridge, but no-one had thought to make his load hi-vis so he hadn't seen he was carrying it!  (Also it's lucky no other drivers crashed into the container while dazzled by the bridge).

Hertfordshire / Essex Police came and arrested the driver and then the Reach journalist p - it's clearly unacceptable that hard-working drivers should be

what me officer, no I was just saying how bad it is that twentysomethings driven by climate anxiety and a potential shitshow of a future should be causing disruption to all those funeral-bound and hospital appointment bound drivers on the M25.
