Freehub identification?

Bought a used wheel and having difficulty finding a cassette to fit. It's an HG-compatible hub (in that it's got the keyed splines needed for an HG cassette, and HG clusters slide on perfectly) but it's not long enough. Tried a Shimano 9sp MTB and a SRAM 9-speed road. In both cases I can't fit the last two cogs, and even if I could get them on the lockring is slightly too big for the threads? It's on a Hope Pro 2 Evo hub. Difficult to measure but the spline length is around 30mm?

Ah, that could be it, but it's got a conventional 12mm thru end cap on it. Will get a photo of it.
