Sounds like you have the shimno technical dead-end tall-spline 10 speed freehub. Can't be changed so you need to source NOS cassettes or a new hub / wheel.

It looks the body on a WH-R600-R freehub is matched to a 10-speed cassette design used on Ultegra and Dura-Ace of the time (possibly 105 too?) but since then Shimano has moved away from the stepped design, using a uniform spline height. Presumably you've got a more modern cassette.
Looks like you'll either need to upgrade your freehub (probably the better option) or hunt down some matching 10 speed cassettes.
