Armstrong set to ride again in 2011

Lance Armstrong has wriggled out of suggestions that this year will be his last in the saddle, and thinks it's 'possible' he could win the 2010 Tour de France.

Speaking at a press conference in Australia following the end of the Tour Down Under, the seven-times TdF winner appeared to sweep aside rumours that he'll retire at the end of this season.

"I suspect I'll be doing some racing in 2011,” he said. “I don't know if it will be a full schedule."

Armstrong further insisted that winning an eighth title would be difficult, but not impossible.

“I think I can win the Tour again. I might be a fool to think that, but I’m going to go down my foolish way and find out,” he said.

“It’s something I think would be possible. It’s going to be the hardest one to win. The competition is better than it ever has been before,” he added.

Armstrong's determination to push himself as hard as ever should intensify his rivalry with 2009 TdF winner Alberto Contador this summer.

Contador says his relationship with Armstrong is non-existent, while the American has denied the Spaniard's claims that he lacked support from his Astana team-mates and team management during last July's Tour.
