Fancy a cycling holiday but the other’s half after some relaxing in the sun instead? Get your kicks (sort of) by riding the cycle monorail about Carnival Cruise’s latest 800-ft track.
Situated on the top deck of the brand new Carnival Vista, the 800-foot-long track suspended around the boat’s top deck allows passengers to circle in pedal-powered capsules.
The recumbent-like bikes hang 150 feet above the sea, giving riders panoramic views to enjoy while they work off the all-you-can-eat buffets.
The expanded outdoor activities on offer also include SkyCourse, a suspended ropes course, along with The Clubhouse at SportSquare¸ featuring mini-bowling, ping-pong, arcade basketball, sports video gaming and other activities.
The largest ship in the fleet, Carnival Vista will measure 133,500 tons, 1,055 feet long and have a guest capacity of 3,936. The new vessel will debut May 1, 2016, with a 13-day cruise departing from Trieste, Italy.

This is perfect, you can create a segment, set the KOM and be safe in the knowledge that anyone taking it from you is nigh on impossible..:-)
unless your daft enough to do it while in the dock of course !
you'd get some funny looking tracks. crossed loops or wave peaks.
Does appear to have a seat belt he's not using though.
Hivis or a helmet are not going to do you much good if you fall 150 feet from there. Armbands or a rubber ring may be a good idea.
Why is the guy in the photo not wearing hivis or a helmet. Disgracefully reckless if you ask me....
Will look good in the brochures but still not what most readers would really like. I noticed last Christmas the the German Aida boats carried their own (clunky) hire bikes, now it would be good if another firm (P&O, Princess, Royal Caribbean) took it to the next level and have something decent to hire out. No better way to explore the many places you get to visit and work off the 24 hour food. I know you can easily hire bikes in places like the Canaries but I have lost count the number of times I have been to difficult to reach Norweigan fjords just wishing I had a bike.
After doing a short cruise a couple of years ago I did think it would be great to have my bike along to explore new roads and trails where the ship stopped off everyday.
+1.
I was on a short P&O cruise last autumn and, whilst I did make use of the bikes in the (very well-equipped) on-board gym, I'd have loved to have the opportunity to go ashore on a decent bike, not least as I was in Flanders too.
Could be fun in heavy weather.
