adidas unveils new Supernova Climachill jersey for hot weather cycling

New feature-packed jersey designed for hot weather riding

Clothing brand adidas has been busily increasing its range of cycle clothing in recent years, with the new adistar range launched not so long ago, and the latest is this new Supernova Climachill jersey, which has been designed for hot weather cycling and designed for sportive cyclists.

The Supernova Climachill jersey is pitched as “the next generation of active cooling wear for cyclists,” a lofty claim indeed. adidas has employed a number of its own developments into the jersey to help cyclists stay cooler when the going gets hot.

Manufactured from a Polar Fiber, a light and breathable open mesh fabric, the jersey also features stragecially positioned ‘aluminium cooling spheres’ which apparently provide a cooling sensation when in contact with the skin. Subzero yarns, flat to provide a larger surface area and containing titanium, are woven through the main fabric to help transfer heat away from the body more quickly.

All sounds very impressive, but the proof is in the testing, so we’ve got a jersey winging its way into the office for review so we can test those claims. We just need some suitably warm weather.

The new jersey is available in a range of colours for men and women and costs £55. It’s available now from www.adidascycling.co.uk

The link you posted doesn't work outside the UK. Adidas are still in the dark ages when it comes to technology, and are under the impression the www is divided into national boundaries. It took me around 10 minutes to figure a way to see Adidas cycling clothing on an actual Adidas website. Genius marketing mein freund:(

send one to me, I'll give it a work out. Here in Western Australia daytime temperatures in summer rarely dip below 30 degrees.

Moving target:
Interesting point. Not thought of that.
You're sitting on c.8kg of metal and carbon including a rather spiky looking metal chainring that could do a lot more damage than some small very shiny 'nodules'. Probably do more to protect (think armour) - but don't think I'll do any practical crash testing. #justsaying.
Do I get that job now?

Methinks those nifty cooling aluminum spheres are multipurpose and will be very effective in stripping off any pesky skin when you crash and slide 20

No affiliation to Adidas at all. Just trying to help if someone feels so inclined to purchase something adidas.

Still don't see them as a cycling brand myself. But that's another debate.

The ‘aluminium cooling spheres’ have been in their running gym wear for a while. http://www.adidas.co.uk/supernova-climachill-tee/S00225.html
Works good - definitely feel the cooler metallic sensation when you put it on.
Does it keep you cooler - who knows?
Do the dots fall off? - absolutely not.
Seems like a decent price too.

Ok I get the aluminium things for the running tops - but wouldn't black be a bad idea in the sun ?

And with the cycling top - wouldn't you have a base layer underneath ? Well in the uk anyway.

Summer does happen in the UK, eventually.
