Ever wondered how many Bromptons you can fit into a London phone box? No? Well, now is your
chance to find out...
Show off your skill, ingenuity and knowledge of the capital by taking part in the Brompton Urban
Challenge this August, as part of the Prudential Ride London, the Mayor of London’s festival of cycling.
The Brompton Urban Challenge takes the form of a host of challenges to complete throughout the day,
starting at the Brompton Junction store from 10am.
Teams will need to send in photo evidence of them completing each challenge to be in with a chance of winning a range of fun prizes. The winning team will be voted for by the public.
Entry costs £10 with 50% of the entry fee going to charity, the London Cycling Campaign.
Those without Bromptons who want to take part in the Urban Challenge can hire a Brompton for £2.50 from the Bike Hire scheme - for more information on where to hire click here.
Teams can register on the Brompton bicycle website (deadline for entries 17th July), and will pick up their
challenge card from 10am on the 1st August, from Brompton Junction, 76 Long Acre, Covent Garden,
London, WC2E 9JS.
There will be a breakfast provided for all entrants by MOMA Foods.
The challenges are kept secret until the day, but the Brompton Urban Challenge tests teamwork,
orienteering ability and most importantly creativity.
Past challenges have included getting your Brompton as high as you can, and re-enacting a famous London film scene with your Brompton.
“We are delighted that this year’s Brompton Urban Challenge will be part of RideLondon’s FreeCycle – it is such a fun event, and with traffic free roads I am sure our Bromptoneers will be especially inventive with their tasks and bring to life why Bromptons are made for cities.
"Post the challenge we hope all will come and cheer participants at the Brompton World Championship Final on the Mall,” said Stephen Loftus, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer.
