New MTB film to tour the UK from April

Follow Me will be first HD screening of a MTB film in Europe

We may be dyed-in-the-wool roadies here at road.cc and we love a grainy triumph-over-adversity road flick but for the feel-good factor you can't beat a good mountain bike film, so we're excited about the new release from Anthill films which will be touring the UK. Follow Me features 2008 DH World Champion Gee Atherton amongst an all star cast and is touted as "a modern portrait of mountain bike lifestyle, getting back to basics and reminding us why we all love to ride bikes".

The tour kicks off with the European Cinema premiere at the Glasgow Film Theatre (www.gft.org.uk) on Tuesday 27th April 2010. Follow Me will be shown as a double bill feature with Seasons and it'll be the first ever HD screening of a mountain bike film in Europe. Tickets are already on sale for the opening night, and from there the film will embark on a countrywide tour (see confirmed dates below)

Instead of a traditional single rider format, Follow Me is based on the idea that “no one rides alone” and the footage features some of the world's top names in downhill and freeride in some of the best locations on the planet. Check out the trailer below: there's some amazing footage and lovely camerawork to be admired.

"Think back‐yard sessions, ripping local trails, training bike parks, epic road trips and heli drops", say the creators. "Follow Me is all about good times, pushing limits with your friends, crazy adventures and most importantly having fun your bike. It will change the way you see mountain bike films and get you stoked to get off the couch and ride!"

As well as Gee Atherton the featured riders include Sam Hill, Darren Berrecloth, Ben Boyko, Brendan Fairclough, Geoff Gulevich, Matt Hunter, Cam McCaul, Brandon Semenuk, Steve Smith, Kurt Sorge, and Thomas Vanderham.

I love footage which follows a rider down singletrack. The thing I can't stand about most mountain bike films is that there is only about half a second between each cut, and the picture quality is often abysmal. This looks promising.

"The Collective" and "ROAM" where both above average. I haven't yet seen "Seasons".
