Forest Of Dean Spring Classic sportive to be sponsored by Rose Bikes

Entries are now open for the Forest of Dean Spring Classic sportive on 2nd May which will be the fifth running of this popular and scenic event. Coming on board this year as title sponsor is Rose Bikes which may be little know here but is one of the biggest bike and accessory brands in its native Germany.

Organisers have taken the opportunity of the new sponsorship to improve the event with extra facilities at the start and finish with more toilets, bike racks and a Kryptonite lock station as well as indoor feed stops with toilets on the route, electronic timing, NEG outriders on the course and free food before and after for all entrants.

As event organiser Graham Temple says “We have taken on board all the comments from last year’s participants and used the sponsorship to improve the overall experience of the event.”

According to Andy Mayne from Rose UK, ”The Forest of Dean Spring Classic has been one of the must-ride sportives for years, so when offered the chance to become involved Rose Bikes jumped at the chance."

“It's also one of the natural choices when showcasing some of the new Red Bull road bikes which we're launching into the UK this year.”

The 85 mile event starts and finishes in Monmouth and takes riders on a loop through some of the best roads the area has to offer. The route has been slightly modified this year to aid navigation and includes an extra climb for good measure. From 3-mile-long climbs to 1-in-4 walls, a serious workout awaits and will test even the fittest of riders. The clover leaf design of the route means you are never more than 20 miles from the event village should your fitness let you down. The event village is open from Saturday and sign on is available on Saturday as well as Sunday morning. Entries this year are limited to 1,000 riders, an increase from the traditional 750 which sold out before the event last year.
