London cyclist dies following collision with another bike rider

Police in London are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist died following a collision involving another bike rider on the New King’s Road at approximately 7pm on Monday evening.

According to the Metropolitan Police the victim, a male in his late 60s, sustained serious head injuries in the incident and died in a West London hospital yesterday.

Officers say that the other cyclist involved, a man aged 25, stopped at the scene of the collision at the junction of New King’s Road and Grimston Road in the borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, but was not arrested.

The junction in question is not controlled by traffic lights.

The deceased cyclist has not yet been formally identified, although his next of kin have been informed.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Roads and Transport Policing Command on 020 8543 5157, or the charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
