Bike thieves who viciously stabbed a man after he attempted to get his bike back, have been jailed for 12 years each.
Armani Coleman, 20, and Cedric Ndaye, 19, had taken the 45-year-old man’s bike, when he chased them down the street. CCTV footage shows two men kicking and hitting the victim as he retreats, without his bike, before he is stabbed in the back and falls to the ground.
As the victim lay on the ground near Turnpike Lane in North London, he “repeatedly kicked in the body and head” according to police, until a member of the public stepped in.
The victim was airlifted to hospital where he was treated for multiple head injuries and the stab wound.
A third man involved in the attack, on May 25, is still at large.
Detective Constable Rob Buckley, from Haringey CID, told the Evening Standard: "This was an entirely unprovoked assault that stemmed from Coleman's desire to steal a bicycle.
"The victim suffered numerous injuries that required extensive medical treatment.
"The third suspect in this incident has yet to be traced although efforts continue; I would appeal to anyone with information to contact officers."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Should get 12 years, and stabbed on the back
12 years is a long sentance, fortunately they didn't kill the man. If you always say the sentance is not long enough even when the sentance is long then why should anyone listen to you? It's the same as people who will always say there aren't enough police, there could be a million police, they'd still say there aren't enough police, a statement based on thoughtless emotion rather than actual constructive thought based on facts.
These animals should be executed.
kill a cyclist through negligence, stupidity or deliberate actions and you get a slap on the wrist, Attack someone and get 12 years....
I guess it reflects what the system regards as a crime.
Attacks like this and only 12 years?
Should have thrown away the key to anyone who attacks someone or uses a knife.
At the moment the message is clear: crime gets a slap on the wrist.
I'm sure if you were sent down for 12 years you'd sit there and say "fuck me i got away with that"
They'll probably do 6 years and be back out on the streets, in their mid-twenties with their whole lives ahead of them.
They should have taken him down with a car, no problem, it's normal. Even without any license or insurance.
