Tweed Run tickets go on sale at midday

The annual London bike ride is back - and this time it's first come first served for tickets...

Tickets go on sale for the Tweed Run today at midday – and this year organisers aren’t operating a ballot system, so fans may want to be poised at the computer when the clock strikes 12.

Tickets for the Central London ride are available from the Tweed Run website for £25, which includes a donation to the London Cycling Campaign. Four tickets can be purchased at a time.

Bedecked in vintage attire, riders will leave Clerkenwell at 11am on Saturday 14 May, taking in some of London’s landmarks before tea in a London square, a picnic break and finish in a park.

This year optional extras include a Tweed Run Brunch before setting off, and a gourmet hamper for the picnic break.

Met Police: Cuts mean no more support for London mass rides

Extra spaces have been added this year, but tickets are expected to sell out quickly.

The ONLY reason I would do the Tweed Run again would be with police presence. Otherwise, it's £25 to ride streets you can ride anyway, with the same shitty aggro drivers forcing their way through. I have very fond memories of three years ago with my 2yo son, doing the whole ride. Utterly civilised.

But without police? No way.
