A cyclist in Slough has been left with a broken cheekbone after a vicious assault in an alley in Slough.
The rider, a man aged 40, was cutting between Minster Way and St Mary’s Road on Friday evening at around 8.30pm when he was approached by a group of black men who demanded his bicycle.
He was then pushed to the floor, punched and kicked and left with a fractured bone in his face, bruises and cuts. He is said by police to be ‘traumatised’.
He was treated at Wexham Park Hospital.
The attackers did not take his bike in the end.
Thames Valley Police Investigating officer Jagdip Sekhon, from Slough Local CID, said: “The victim has been left shocked and traumatised by this incident.

We’ve reported a number of violent attacks on cyclists in recent weeks, including a cyclist violently mugged as he repaired a puncture on a bike path last month.
The 40-year-old victim was on the A45 Nene Valley Way cycle path, near Ecton in Northamptonshire, when he was asked if he needed any help by two men on a yellow Suzuki scrambler motorbike.
The cyclist was then pushed over, threatened with an unidentified weapon, his leg stamped on and his watch and phone removed.
The assailants also took the man’s bag, and pulled his necklace off.
And earlier this month a cyclist in Newcastle was knocked over and assaulted by a gang of men, who fled with his his bike.
The 44 year old victim was riding home at around 11.45pm on Friday when he was attacked near to the junction of Welbeck Road and Kennington Grove in Byker.
The gang of four men, aged in their 20s and 30s, are being sought by police after the cyclist was left hospitalised with non-life threatening injuries

Armour, that's the answer. Full-face helmet, neck brace, arm & leg protection as per downhill racing. Scum walks up to potential victim, tries to thump him or her, breaks hand. Only alternative I can see is unstealable bikes. My partner has one - 20 years old, women's step-through frame (scratches, loads...), hub gears, mudguards, rattles continuously when moving, weighs approximately a ton.
I know a guy who does his utility cycling on a gazelle cabby (caddy? Or is that a van) weighs about 40kg so nobody is walking off with that one the wheel lock is on.
Scum now know bikes are big money, or could be big money. Bloke in my local Costa brought his F8 inside the place this morning and TBH I'd do the same if I had something like that.
Cycling shoes are also hard to fight in and all the emaciating yourself to go faster doesn't pay dividents when it comes to dust-ups on the cobbles.
Great to see so many people interested in cycling.
