This Saturday hundreds of naked people on bikes are set to hit the streets of London to protest oil dependency and car dominance.
On 11 June, the London stage of the global annual event, will see scores of people on bikes meet, strip off and cycle a nine mile route of central London, passing Parliament, the London Eye, Trafalgar Square and St Paul’s Cathedral.
Its purpose is to highlight the vulnerability of human beings to motor traffic, promote cycling and celebrate the individuality of the human body.
World Naked Bike Ride returns to the UK
Organisers say it is “time to put a stop to the indecent exposure of people and the planet to cars and the pollution they create,” and explain that they face traffic naked to highlight the unique dangers faced by cyclists and pedestrians.
Advice on stripping off is provided for riders on the day. The website says: “Do not undress until just before the protest moves off, as this will undermine our positive relationship with the authorities. There is no law against nudity in Britain, but please don't exercise your right to nudity in London before the ride, as it will impact on our ability to make arrangements with police.”
Organisers advise riders bring clothes with them on the ride.
It adds: “Feel free to undress in the UK at any other time of the year, as this will not have any impact on the WNBR.”
Riders will set out from six starting points: Hyde Park, Regents Park, Kings Cross, Tower Hill, Clapham Junction and West Norwood, and converge at Westminster Bridge, before riding to Wellington Arch via a nine mile anti-clockwise loop of Central London.
There are 14 more UK rides through to July, with the Brighton leg taking place the day after the London event, on 12 June.

For anybody thinking of checking out the event for the purposes of thrills, please be aware that the picture supplied with this article, isn't typical of the sights to which your eyes will be subjected.
You need some balls to do that ride!
So... you googled "naked ride" / images, didn't you?
This is just an excuse to put up that picture of the (admittedly not un-attractive) naked girl on a bike again isn't it?
Come on, admit it!
I'm pretty sure someone got booted of this last year because of a very unfortunate incident
Extra 'crossbar'
