Video: Taxi driver runs into pro cyclist then apologises

The incident took place following an altercation on the streets of Bath on Friday. NFTO rider, Edmund Bradbury, says the driver apologised afterwards

A taxi driver was caught on camera driving into a pro cyclist Edmund Bradbury after an altercation on the streets of Bath.

The man was filmed shouting “move” at the NTFO team rider, who was in front of his car on the road, before driving into Bradbury, shoving him forward.

Bradbury didn’t react, and later said the altercation ended amicably, with the man apologising and saying he’ll look out for cyclists in future.

LCC and LTDA agree on cyclist/taxi driver behaviour pact

Bradbury tweeted afterwards: “Ended up shaking hands on him agreeing to look out for cyclists in future and a full apology."

I would definitely have reported that taxi driver. Would be a nice excuse for a new rear wheel too courtesy of his insurance, maybe even a new frame if carbon fibre.

The only motorist I particularly dislike is the taxi driver, and videos like this just prove my stereotyping.

I'm a Bath cyclist and you need to have your wits about you; narrow streets and busy, aggressive traffic.  Usual local government procrastination and endless debate means nothing gets done to sort it out.  Shouldn't be like that as it's a stunning place to ride around on a bike.  Not surprised it was a cabbie; they're up there with the Royal Mail van drivers!

Report a crime via the Avon & Somerset web site: https://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact-us/report-a-crime-or-incid...

If enouth people report the incident they can't ignore it, or face the accusation of turning a blind eye to dangerous behaviour (which the police admitedly have been doing for years).

that's what comes of shaving your legs. On the other hand, if you don't then WVM thinks you're from a 1970s feminist collective, and shouts at you anyway.

Going to struggle to defend dangerous driving there. Shouting 'move or I'll run you over' then running into him before any chance to move.

Oh wait, it's a guy on a bike. Nothing to see here.

That driver deserves to have been dragged out of that car through the fecking windscreen. Fat, useless twat.

I'd imagine it ended amicably when the driver knew he was on camera.

I know this part of Bath quite well and have ridden through it many times. Traffic typically moves at 5 MPH, it's a busy little junction with traffic lights and pedestrian crossings 50 yards either side. Fuck knows how the driver got himself into a situation where he thought it sensible to ram the bike with his car but it does show the mindset of some folks. He shouldn't be allowed to drive.

Isn't that just all of inner Bath?

I 100% promise that it wouldn't have ended amicably if he had done that to me. Hats off for keeping his cool.

Yep, think I'd have put my chain through his window and then around his neck.

The police need to be seeing that guy before he picks on the wrong person and then it'll be poor me.
