Video: GB junior men sweep podium at Cyclo-cross World Championships

Last weekend, the British cyclo-cross community was in shock at the sudden death of 15-year-old up-and-coming rider, Charlie Craig, second in the under-16 national championships earlier this month. Today at the World Championships, Great Britain's junior men paid him perhaps the most fitting tribute possible - by making a clean sweep of the podium.

British and European junior champion Tom Pidcock opened up a lead on the second lap in Biele, Luxembourg and rode away to claim the rainbow jersey on an icy course in Bieles, Luxembourg.

Behind him Daniel Tulett, who finished second, and Ben Turner, winner of the bronze medal, battled it out for the remaining podium places.

On an emotional day, all three wore black armbands in tribute to Craig, who was an apprentice rider with the Great Britain Cycling Team and who was the son of multiple national champion Nick Craig.

Pidcock said afterwards: “I just made sure I didn’t crash. Just stayed upright and let the legs do the work. It’s amazing, all three of us on the podium. It’s history. It’s amazing.”
