Cyclists invited to join rides to next month's Warwick Cycle Races

Cyclists in Warwickshire are being invited to get on their bikes to attend next month’s Warwick Cycle Races, the highlight of which is the Elite race which brings the programme to a close and will feature riders from our very own Kuota-road.cc, who are determined to end the season in some style after experiencing injuries and bad luck in the opening months of the year.

The event takes place on Sunday 5th September, and you can find a full programme of events here, which includes the National Trike Championships and an Emergency Services Race in which police officers, firefighters, doctors and nurses will be relying on their own two legs rather than sirens and lights to get them round the course as quickly as possible.

Chief Fire Officer at Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service, Graeme Smith said: "This is a terrific idea and one that will continue to raise the profile of cycling and demonstrate what is possible at all levels. All the emergency services are used to racing against the clock, so it will be interesting to see who comes out on top on race day."

Informal rides into Warwick are being planned from surrounding towns, cities and villages, leaving from Stratford Market Place (American Fountain) at 9.30, Coventry Train Station (Starley Building) at 10.00, Kenilworth Clock Tower between 10.45 and 11.00, Leamington band stand in the Pump Room Gardens at 10.30, Nuneaton Library at 9.15 and Bulkington New Inn Pub between 9.30 and 9.40.
