Elinor Barker has won Great Britain’s second gold medal at the 2017 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Hong Kong, which finished today.

It’s the 22-year-old’s third track world championship title, the other two both coming in the team pursuit, an event in which she won gold with Team GB at Rio last year.

Barker said afterwards: "I'm incredibly happy. Until the last lap it was looking like another silver. I'm so happy it was a gold."

Earlier in the championships, Barker was second in the scratch race and also took silver in the Madison yesterday with Emily Nelson.

Victory in the points race wasn’t her only result today.
