also, i thought courses for records had to be out and backs (?).  this one has an 8km downhill start (c.130m elevation drop) followed by a 32km out and back.  i estimate he did a 65kmh average for the first 8k, then c. 54k ave for the out and back over 32k.  extrapolating out the latter bit gives you and estimated 25 miles in a shade over 45 mins (allowing for power drop for the greater distance).

still insane, but puts it in a bit more perspective.

It would be nice if road.cc would spell his name correctly. Those aren't 'L's, they're 'barred L's -soft 'L's - pronounced like "ew" or, more precisely, exactly like the 'L' in Ilford.
It's "Marcin Białobłocki"! I guess he' got some hard 'L's on his saddle;)

I'm sure it helps that he already holds the comp record for 25 miles. 

I'm pretty sure the fastest TT man in Britain 'could get a contract for next year' if he wanted.. 

He wrote on facebook when asked if he was going to appeal the decision..  'I’ve decided to take it on the chin and move on so I’ll not be lodging an appeal and leave it for my legs to answer the critics.'

Good classy response, he'll go and smash the record another day - and why not

No TT'ing for me on 70mph-dual carriageways thank you very. Too many fatalities.

Holy Jesus. I can hold 56 kph for about 1 minute..... I can't comprehend being able to hold it for 3/4 hour.

And he must be super slippery. 415 W average to make 56 kph av. On my local track I have to hold 550W to do 55 kph on my road bike.

I thought my cycling was improving when I overtook one of the TT boys on the adjacent back road last year. Took me about 3 miles to close 200 yards. Felt really good until I checked on Strava flyby, was his cool down.

Having driven down the A465 in the area they run the TT, and seen the TT riders, I can't believe anyone would even want to ride down the hard shoulder let alone ride down the centre line. It's a 70 mph (most people drive it much faster) road with many bends and in a few places a dodgy camber that changes half way across the road (going from a cambered bend to a off camber bend with a ridge running diagonally across the road) and the surface isn't even very good.

Terrifying.

Is it one of the rules that you can not ride down the centre line of a dual carriageway? I didn't know that!
