Police in the City of London have appealed for a cyclist knocked off his bike by the driver of a private hire vehicle earlier this month to come forward.
Officers say that the rider and the driver of the vehicle, a black Toyota Prius, had been involved in an argument prior to the incident on Bishopsgate at around 6pm on the evening of Friday 27 April.
They said that the driver then accelerated, hitting the rear wheel of the bicycle and causing the cyclist to fall to the ground.
The driver then mounted the pavement, with police saying that he struck some pedestrians, one of whom was injured as he tried to get out of the way.
City of London police confirmed that the driver, a 45-year-old man from Newham, had been arrested on suspicion of assault and dangerous driving.
Detective Constable Kevin Summers said: “We would like to speak to the cyclist involved so that we can hear his account of what happened and so that we can check on his welfare.
“If this was you or you know who he is, please get in touch with us.”
The cyclist, as well as anyone else with information about the incident, is asked to contact City of London Police on 0207 601 2222 or the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
