A man has been charged with a number of motoring offences following an incident caught on camera earlier this month in south London in which a driver repeatedly drove at cyclists.
The Metropolitan Police said that Shane Seymour, aged 25, was arrested on Sunday and charged with two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, five counts of driving whilst disqualified, five counts of dangerous driving, and vehicle interference.
Seymour, who was named by police as the suspect following the incident in Clapham earlier this month, has also been charged with two counts of burglary.
The incident, which began outside Clapham North station and continued to Stockwell, was caught on camera by two cyclists, one of whom, Dave Clifton, was almost knocked off his bike when the driver swerved at him.
After turning off Clapham Road, causing another cyclist to come off his bike, the motorist then repeatedly drove at a group of cyclists who had gathered to see what was happening before making his escape when an unmarked police car arrived and an officer got out.
In an appeal earlier this month, Detective Constable James Preston said: "It is only a matter of luck that no-one was seriously injured or even killed by this reckless driver.
"The sooner we can apprehend him, the better."

As a member of the Co-op community (I live in a Housing Co-op) and a bike owner /rider, this is very sad news. We need more Co-ops not less.

That looks like a fun bike. Frame only, 2 and an 1/2 grand.
Fair enough, personal experience may trump (not that one) theory. However, the bonking I have experienced has been due to lack of carbs. Your point...
