Rebecca Romero heads list of stars at British Cycling stand at London Cycle Show

Cycling fans attending this week’s Cycle Show at London’s Earls Court will have the chance to meet stars including Olympic champion Rebecca Romero, Paralympic and World champion Jody Cundy and emerging mountain biker Annie Last, says British Cycling.

The trio will be at the British Cycling stand and the Test Track at the show which opens to the public on Friday, talking with fans and signing autographs, and Romero and Last will also be taking part in Q&A sessions at the event.

Romero, who won gold in the Individual Pursuit at Beijing, will sign autographs on Friday at 11:30am-12pm, 12:30pm-1pm and 2pm-3:15pm. At 4pm, she will take part in ‘An audience with Sean Kelly and Rebecca Romero,' with Eurosport’s David Harmon leading a Q&A session.

Last, who in September took silver in the U23 Mountain Bike Cross Country World Championships, is due to sign autographs on Saturday 9 October at 11am-12pm, 2-2:30pm and 3-3:30pm, and will also appear on stage at 12:30pm for 'An Audience with Competitive Women,' another Q&A session hosted by Harmon.

Meanwhile, Cundy, who like Sarah Storey switched from swimming to cycling – the pair both hold the rare distinction of having won Paralympic gold in two different sports – will be talking to the public and signing autographs on the show’s closing day, Sunday 10 October at 11:30am-12pm, 12:30-1pm and 2-3:15pm.

Also on show at British Cycling’s stand will be Bradley Wiggins’ Team Sky Time Trial bike in National Champion colours, and visitors will also have the chance to win a GB Cycling Team replica jersey, ahead of the full range of GB Cycling Team replica kit going on sale early in 2011.

Meanwhile, British Cycling says that anyone who signs up as a member during the Cycle Show will also receive 50% off Ride membership as well as a goodie bag from its sponsors. They will also be entered into a prize draw, thanks to Fiat, to win a break for two people to Manchester for the UCI Track Cycling World Cup on 18-20 February, including a one-night stay at The Midland Hotel, £200 to spend and the use of a Fiat Bravo for the trip.
