German bike brand Canyon has today launched a UK support line for customers on this side of the Channel.
“If, for example, someone has a question about setup or something like that, they just call the line and we’ll sort it out from the UK rather than from Germany,” says Cullen Ward from Canyon.
“And if there’s a known warranty problem, we will collect from the customer’s house and it will be fixed from parts we hold in stock in the UK, so we’re aiming to turn things around really quickly. There may be cases that need to go back to Germany but the aim is to solve all warranty cases directly from here.”
The company behind Canyon has been around for 25 years now, selling under the Canyon name since 1996. One of the key features of the brand is that it sells direct to the consumer rather than going through retailers, so the prices are extremely competitive.
The aluminium Roadlite 7.0, for example, comes with a carbon fork, Mavic Aksium wheels and a Shimano Ultegra groupset for €1,199 – which is a pretty darn crazy spec for the money.
Canyon will be continuing sponsorship of the Omega Pharma-Lotto pro team in 2011, who ride on stock bikes that are available to the consumer.
All bikes are designed, developed, tested and assembled in Germany and can be ordered on the Canyon website (www.canyon.com) or on the phone. Buy from Canyon and the bike will be assembled in Germany and shipped direct to you via UPS.
The support line number is 0208 501 2582, and it will be manned 10am-4pm Monday to Friday.

Love my Canyon Ultimate SLX.
The frame is on par with the Cervelo R3 and Cannondale SuperSix Hi-Mod I tested but at a 1/3 of the price.
I thought they were Belgian.
Couldn't be happier with or had better service from Canyon. I have two and love them. Definitely a brand worth considering whatever price or performance you are considering
