Polar launch Tour de France computer

Polar are celebrating this year’s Tour de France by launching a limited edition of their CS500 cycling computer with yellow details. In addition to the new design, it comes with an extended memory capacity that allows you to store more data from every ride.

We have reviewed the CS500 in the past. It features traditional functions such as speed (current, average and maximum), distance (trip, lap and total) and time functions. It is also equipped with an altimeter to give you altitude, rate of ascent/ descent and gradient information, as well as a thermometer and the expected ECG accurate heart-rate monitor. Cadence and power are optional extras too. All this is displayed on an easy to read, oversize display.

After your ride, you can get more cycling-specific information via the online training diary at polarpersonaltrainer.com. You can quickly transfer your training files wirelessly if you buy Polar’s DataLink transmitter. The CS500 Tour de France comes with a memory capacity that’s twice as large as previously and the heart rate transmission is coded to prevent crosstalk with other cyclists’ systems.

On sale now, the CS500 Tour de France will be available in a limited quantity with the CS speed sensor W.I.N.D. and Dual Lock Bike Mount (£224.50), or in a more extensive set with the CS cadence sensor W.I.N.D. as well (£262.50).
