I think it says a lot about what cyclists have to put up with when a fellow cyclist gets cut up by a Police car and the standard response is "Ah, that's nowt".

Tame by any standard. Can hear his cranks creaking as he slowly grinds along the road... I was expecting to hear brake squeal and shouting; this looks more like he only realised how it looked when he viewed the video. Which, as others have said, is appalling quality - should have bought a cheap one from eBay; mine was £20 and quality is great.

Looks more like slightly careless and rude driving - cycling in London means you get the whole gamut of driving "styles". Taxi drivers, police cars, buses, coaches, two-wheeled motorised vehicles, cars and lorries - some of them ARE genuinely amongst the most considerate people on the roads, and for that I thank them ... but OTHERS are the complete opposite ... and I could use similar rhyming slang to describe them but am too polite (normally) for that ! I agree that a quiet word to the police themselves might have gone down better in this instance. I mentioned a helmet-cam to my wife and she was not too impressed - I think she thought I might turn into Victor Meldrew

Just because they are employed to enforce laws does not mean that they will obey the same laws.Have had incidents with (crooked ole pagans),cops that protect criminals, by not doing what is right.They protect other other evil doers because they are evil doers themselves.They need prayer to repent and be saved.

Looking at the video, that guy got mugged off paying out all that money for a contour HD and getting that atrocious quality image!

If anything, what plod did was bad manners and the cyclist should have pulled alongside them immediately, explained what they did and that he would be contacting their duty sergeant. Not whine about it in the local rag.

Well, the police don't generally take cyclists incidents very serious. When it's a member of their own club involved in the incident, it's not surprising that he didn't go to the police first.

I have to say I think the guy made a mistake by not contacting the cops at the same time as the local rag.

reading the usual bile overspill on the daily fail comments (look - I get the headlines on my news feed and sometimes I have to click them...ok?) I'm beginning to wonder if this is an elaborate anti-bike trolling piece and that the offended gentleman and his situation were assembled from stock photos and computer generated imagery.

I do love the comments section on the DF though, you can practically hear dentures being ground to dust and furred arteries bursting as they type.

I think he should have taken the footage to the police before going to the media, given them a chance to respond and if necessary rectify. Also if you look at the screengrabs on the Hull Daily Mail page, the car doesn't really look all that close to him. (Although I'll accept that this could be down to the angle of camera, where it is mounted or because it's only a couple of stills and not the full video.)
