MC Ladyfinger, MC Bon Bon and MC Twinkie aka Sweets Snacks release Fixie a tribute to love across the cappuccino and girls liking boys on bikes. We've all been there.
Describing their band's music as '1st world nano tech pop from the future' the three members of Sweet Snacks from Paris, London and San Fransisco cheered up our evening no end with the video 'Fixie' an honest stab at the emotions encountered when girls set eyes on fixie boys. And there are cakes. It's all good.
Fixie by Sweet Snacks
I was on my way to get my daily latte he sped right past and I said hotte
A super hero of modern times he won't ride a horse he cannot fly
He's on a machine that doesn't use petrol he 2/3's urban and 1/3 metro
Book smart it does appear he's a Shakespeare riding on a fixed gear
(Chorus)
I saw you riding on your bike tell me what are you like
sweat jacket and a pair of dress shoes come on baby lets take a cruise
Speeding off to the cafe he locks it up and begins the sashay
Notebook in the messenger bag scoping out a good table to snag
Outside on the patio indie poppin' from the radio
It turns out we share a table I ask is that your bike with no cables?
He says yeah I just use my legs it's pretty hard so you gotta have eggs
Hmm? Did you mean to say huevos? Oh yeah am I a total lamo?
No way you're hella rad but I don't have a bike so it's sort of sad
(Chorus)
I saw you riding on your bike tell me what are you like
sweat jacket and a pair of dress shoes come on baby lets take a cruise
We begin to lay it down philosophy about this tripped out town
He's thinking about grad school I tell stories about the carpool
He says it's a shame you're bipedal riding in cars should be illegal
One speed one love no gears no fears because
Saving the earth is like saving time like less weight on this frame of mine
Made of sweet chromoly I climb the same hills as the trolly
Even down hills makes me sweat I pedal slower for more effect
Your carpool pals are a bunch of slobs stealing from the poor in their office jobs
All smug about their good green deeds but I'd take em all out on their ten speeds uh huh
(Chorus)
I saw you riding on your bike tell me what are you like
sweat jacket and a pair of dress shoes come on baby lets take a cruise
Pretty soon I was bobbing my head like a new religion I was being fed
Convinced it was the way I started to sashay
So happy I found the answer like being at the disco with a dirty dancer
He took me to the shop where I could be on top of a machine that I could rock
