Tour of Britain VIP schwag: we have a winner!

Who's going to be hobnobbing with the great and good on Sunday?...

Plenty of you were up for a trip down to the smoke to get the VIP treatment at the hands of the nice Tour of Britain people. And thanks to our friends at The Cycle Show, we had one free berth to give away behind the velvet rope. And whose name has been picked out of the hat-cum-database this time around? Why, it's you...

El Badgerino!

We've spoken to the badger who's stoked to be going and is currently phoning around to see who wants to the +1. The rest of you will have to join the unwashed throng, we're afraid. But to cheer you up, here's a chance to win a road.cc Merino jersey...

-------------------------------------------------------

Fancy a VIP day out at the Tour of Britain shakedown in London? Thanks to our friends at the Cycle Show, we've snagged VIP Hospitality for one lucky reader and a friend, a look behind the scenes at the event and a ride in one of the Tour race vehicles during the 8.8 kilometre individual time trial stage around Westminster on Sunday 18 September.

Britain’s Team Sky has a strong line up for the Tour of Britain, including Cycle Show ambassadors, Ben Swift and Geraint Thomas MBE. Winning this prize will get you right amongst the action as they bid for home glory at the first ever Tour of Britain individual time trial in central London. The time trial starts at the end of Whitehall Place, where riders will roll down the time trial ramp at one-minute intervals, before heading out on a flying lap taking in some of the best-known sights in Central London. Not that the riders will be looking at the view...

With only five corners on the 8.8 kilometre circuit, fast times are expected on a course which will suit experienced time trialists, making for a thrilling conclusion to the 2011 Tour of Britain. This money-can’t-buy prize will place you right amongst the action, thanks to the Cycle Show, and all you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is comment below. We'll make the draw on Friday at 12pm. Good luck!

The Cycle Show takes place at the NEC, Birmingham 30 September to 2 October 2011. The show offers the best opportunity in Britain for you to see and ride the latest bikes on the outdoor road bike demo track. For more information about the show, visit http://www.cycleshow.co.uk.

Some small print: Usual schwag grab rules apply. Obviously you'll need to be able to get yourself to Central London on Sunday, and the prize doesn't include your transport to and from the event.

I'm cycling from Aylesbeare up onto Dartmoor to watch at Haytor, and then down to Exmouth for the finish of the race....London would be an even greater finish! 1
