Heh, that's ancient though - C+ ran that pic in it's Crap Cycling Facilities Pt1472 feature which used to be on the letters page back at the turn of the century.
As memory serves though whoever sent it in said it was in Belgium - Bruges I think. Cycle lanes like that are probably all part of the programme to help them produce so many hard as nails cycling champions… natural selection.
Wherever it is though you'd certainly be proud to have a cycle lane like that in your town!

Come to Preston - we do have *some* cycle routes but they are not joined up and I resent having to use pedestrian crossings to get across a junction! slows you down
