Entries still open for the Bristol Belter

Third year for Bristol-based sportive taking in famous Mendip climbs

If you're looking for stuff to do on your bike in September then there's still places on the Bristol Belter on September 23. Now in its third year the Belter has 75km, 115km and 155km courses taking in the fine scenery and climbs of the Mendips.

This year the event is once again based at Redwood Lodge Country Club, with lots of parking as well as showers and changing rooms so you don't have to get your lycra on in the front seat of your car. There'll be free hot drinks and snacks before heading out and on your return, as well as the usual sportive stuff: chip timing, feed and service stations, goody bag, finishing certificate... you know the score. Also, main sponsor Specialized will be on the ground and you'll be able to take a look at their 2013 range of bikes. CycleOps and Torq will also be displaying their wares.

Entry costs £25 for the longer courses and just £20 for the 75km mini Belter, so it's a decent value option if you're looking to get into sportive riding. Entries will be available on the day (sibject to space) for a £5 surcharge. For more information, and to enter, pop over to www.bristolbelter.com
