Lucy Garner, who last month won the junior women’s road race title for the second year running, is to join the women's team of Dutch outfit Argos-Shimano for the 2013 season.
The Leicestershire-born 18-year-old, who followed up her 2011 rainbow jersey success in Copenhagen by taking this year’s race in the Dutch province of Limburg, clearly has an affinity with the Netherlands – earlier this year, she won the European title in Zeeland.
Her appreciation of the country goes beyond cycling, with Garner on record as saying: "I would love to live and race in the Netherlands. Beautiful races and nice people. What more do you want?"
Argos-Shimano has also confirmed the signings of the Dutch sprinter Kirsten Wild and the German riders Charlotte Becker and Marlen Jöhrend.
The team says it has three spots left to fill on its women’s roster for next season and that it is in discussions with “ a number of riders.”
Last month, Olympic silver medallist Lizzie Armitstead, who rode this year for the AA Drink-leontien.nl squad which is folding at the end of this season, confirmed that she would be switching to another Dutch team, Dolmans-Boels.
Three other British women are currently on the AA Drink-leontien.nl roster. Emma Pooley is reportedly considering taking an extended break from cycling to focus on completing her Ph D, while neither British national champion Sharon Laws nor Lucy Martin have revealed their 2013 plans yet.

More likely, the fork offset was increased to offset the gain in trail effected by the use of fatter tires.

Where did you read the minimum tariff is 5 years? Sentencing Guidelines says it's 2 years (minimum disqualification is 5 years)....

Good luck to her - I notice things have quietened down about rumours of a UK based women's team.
Good news this.
Good move for here. I'm glad she didn't go to Dolmans with them already having Armitstead, Lucy Martin and Emma Trott.
There can be too many riders from one country in one team. Gives an up and coming British rider a chance away from other Brits.
With Sharon Laws going to Lotto Belisol Ladies, it gives an even bigger spread of British woman in the Womans World Cup.
