Sad to hear this has happened!
I'm currently on holiday in Colombia and have had a great time getting out on the bike with people in Medellin and Bogota. You just have to train in groups and it's much safer!
If anyone readin this is keen on a cycling holiday in Colombia, you might want to
contact Grupo ciclistico Mariela's (Medellín). Grupo Mariela's are a down to earth bunch and won't charge you a dime to go on rides with em etc.
Medellin is the most organised and best city in Colombia in my opinion. In addition great on road and off road cycling is to be enjoyed!
