We could do with a campain like this in the UK
Quite obviously, the main issue with this video is how scary the right-turning lady is when she smiles looking back at the driver and indicates in a very slow motion. Pretty scary stuff.
The main protagonist in most of the videos seems to be dressed for spinning down the Connor Pass on a foggy night (lycra and hi-viz) rather than for ordinary pootling around town in unremarkable weather and traffic conditions during daylight hours. A bit more cycle chic wouldn't go amiss. The rucksack, for example, could be carried on the bike (in a basket on the back or the front) rather than by its wearer, who is possibly going be a sweaty mess when she arrives at work wearing a jacket and a rucksack which is in itself wearing another jacket. A messenger bag would be a better solution, or an Ortlieb office bag, or ... anything, really.
It’s about time they reinforced that point over here and backed it up with a concerted effort of a TV campaign and harsher sentencing for people who do not abide by it.
Clearly all of these messages are totally lost on Dublin Bus drivers. They are the worst I have ever come across.
