Proud to be a #bloodycyclist? Buy the jersey and tell the world

I too think this jersey is in bad taste. Making cyclist look even worse than we do already to the car drivers. Also having read most of the reports ( and local knowledge) about the twitter incident, I would hold judgment on the whole matter it seems to be a bit of a fishermans tale being told. Yes the girl was a knob to tweet the way she did. With jerseys and and hate campaigns cyclist don't look very good out of the whole situation

These look great! Is there going to be a version of this jersey where the writing is changeable?

I'd love it if one day it said "you didn't knock me off, I'm too hard to be hurt by a pissy micra or whatever it was you were driving."

Then later change the text to "I was thrown up on to the bonnet. I hit the side of windscreen and the wing mirror"

and why not change it again to:

"She came on to my side of the road, I took the wing mirror off and I went flying off my bike into a hedge."

I'd really like a single jersey that keeps up with all of these - and future - changes in the story.

Antagonistic? Nonsense.

I do think that if a driver is going to be antagonised by a jersey they probably don't need much excuse for anything to set them off though!

I think any driver that is antagonized by a jersey is probably going to hate cyclist no matter what but at least with the story still fresh in their minds they may think twice.

I love the fact that #bloodycyclist has been claimed by cyclists but this is just too cycle nerdy; reminds me of the similar (but much more poorly named) ipayroadtax one. I think the best statement cyclists can make is getting on our bikes as much as possible and using the road safely, politely and considerately. In my book that says much more than a slogan or #.

Agree with the posts about the antagonistic impact. We all know that there is a small proportion of drivers who aren't bright enough to see the irony (are you reading this Emma?)and would simply over-react. Doesn't it also reinforce some of the two tribes feelings that exist?

Oh I am sounding like an old fuddy here but I agree it does send a f* off message to motorists. We ALL know the way forward is mutual respect..Dont get me wrong I kinda like it but wearing that in rush hour?? hmm not me...

Perhaps a complimentary jersey could be sent to Emma!!

Seems a bit antagonistic to me, don't really see the point other than someone trying to make a few quid on the back of the story. What's the point in trying to wind drivers up ? Just ride your bike

'Bloody cyclist' might give drivers an excuse to injure us - I certainly don't want to end up in a ditch as a'bloody' cyclist, or worse!

Have to be careful with anything that might antagonise a motorist. If they are having a bad day, this could be the final piece of provocation that could mean them knocking off a cyclist. There are all kinds of unpredictable people out there - we really dont need to give them the excuse.

Though I cannot help but feel that the '#bloodycyclist' text on the front should be repeated and that the 'proud to be a' text is antagonistic to motorists.
