Video - Eurobike Faves: Giro New Road clothing

Riding clothes that look good when you're off the bike too...

We told you about Giro’s New Road range when we first saw it at Eurobike last month, and here’s a quick video we did at the time to show you what’s on offer…

The range is extensive, comprising over 60 products: shorts, trousers, shoes, gloves, shirts, base layers, socks… pretty much everything. The common denominator is that it’s all intended to have a performance aspect to it while being suitable to wear off the bike too.

A lot of the shirts, for example, are merino wool so they have work to keep you sweat-free and comfortable, and they’re cut slim so they don’t flap around when you ride, but they also look appropriate if you’re sitting in your local coffee shop.

Here, top international model Tony shows off the Mechanic Jacket which is made from a three-layer fabric with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish and taped seams.

Some of the clothing is pretty understated, some is a bit more in-yer-face. It looks like a great range to us, especially for people who ride into work, into town to go shopping, and so on.

The full range will soon be on www.giro.com and available in the UK through Zyro

Hi Fixie Girl,

Yes there are women's garments in the range - I could've modeled some but…

The women's stuff we say looked really good but I don't think it is available yet, they're not on the Giro website, though I'm guessing you knew that, but then nor is a lot of the men's stuff. That's one of the problems of looking at clothes at Eurobike - you're often looking at stuff that won't be available for a season or even two.

Thanks Tony - The range looks nicely balanced and unfussy, I like it. Too many new small manufacturers are adding features I/we don't need.. solutions looking for problems!

Removable drop flaps, light loops and magnetic fasteners for instance 19
