Cycling season is when it's hot'n'spicey, no salt on the road and no roads peppered with potholes. It doesn't matter whether you are cumin or goin as the black chilli compound of your tyres grips the road with assurance. An old Sage says it is thyme to ride when the seasoning is just right!
Autumn, when it's not raining. The air seems clearer and the light is much nicer.
Spring for me. Winter slog behind with the pleasing thought that we may have a good summer to come.
Early summer the weather is warming up all the greenery is fresh and loads to see.
Autumn. Not too warm, not too cold, just wet enough to be fun.
The most important thing about the weather for me is that it changes. It seems wrong when we have days and days of anything unbroken. In-between is best: September and March maybe. Or Spring.
Spring - I get to change out of my winter socks which is a relief for pedestrians as I cycle by.
Spring, cool mornings warm days, not too hot.
The start of the Green (a.k.a. Rainy) Season in Zambia, i.e. now: dust settles, there's a freshness in the air which you can positively smell, green grass and other shoots appear, animals have young, good visibility for photos... Dirt roads firm up for bikes but are still passable. Perfect time for a tour.
Spring! Crisp weightless air, clear skies and the first tingles of warmth of the year after 3 months of cycling in the damp & rain.
Post ride beer garden. Has to be summer.
Definitely Autumn! Still some sun, but not hot, the odd bit of rain, beautiful orange/brown leaves on the trees, makes use of the obligatory autumn jacket and bib tights usually sitting in my bike wardrobe the rest of the year!
early spring mornings as the sun is coming up - perfect.
Definitely Spring!
Let's see. There are three seasons: classics, grand tour, cross. Definitely classics.
Nice warm day to enjoy the views along way....
Winter: dark starts and freezing winds mean that coffee tastes extra good afterwards!
Always Spring for me - going to work as the sun is coming over the hedges, and the perfect temperature - no numb fingers, but no overheating either...
Spring... love the changing greens and the warmth returning to the air!
Summer... long evenings and lounging in the pub garden after a ride.
A cold bright frosty morning - as long as I've got the right gear!
A frozen February night ride. Lights shining off powder snow and the trails are hard and fast. No vegitation ripping at your clothes and no flies to get in the way of breathing. All topped off with a hot stew and pint to end off the night.
2012 was a pretty good season. Looking forward to 2014 now.
First time the arm warmers come off in late spring.
i like the cold crisp winter mornings where you never get to hot, just a perfect temperature after a few miles of being a bit chilly
Would have to say Autumn, fresh air in abundance and coffee and cake always tastes better after that.
Summer in the UK. Long days, rarely too hot.
Early summer...ride from London to the coast as the sun burns off the early morning haze ending with well deserved fish and chips on the beach.
Summer: long days for taking the longer route home!
Spring - it means the summer bike holiday is not far off and you can feel smug about being out and training!!
