That one week where it's still warm but there's a cool edge to the air, the promise of autumn.
spring - warmer weather and signalling the end of the grim winter weather. Green foliage beginning to appear and knowing summer isnt far away and its time to get the miles in!
Winter commuting for me....
la primavera - of course....
got to be june ...when all the BIG sportives happen and when you find out if you've trained harder than your mates !
With me it has to be spring, the worst of the cold wet days are gone and the days are pulling out while warming up. But they are not so hot you need to plan routes round bottle filling stops or carry spares in your jersey pockets. The spring classics kick of and inspire me to go further and ride for longer helping me shed a little more weight gain fitness and rather than the grimmis of winter riding the smile steadily spreads across my face. The views turn from frozen brown to green with new life forming across the country side. I know that its not long until the Giro which means La Tour is on its way.
Yes spring really is the best time to ride.
Winter mornings, about 4 degrees above freezing. Enough to melt the ice on the roads, but the fields still covered in snow.
You can't beat a crisp Spring morning that is dry, bright and only just warm enough for jersey & shorts.
Summer!
Summer: warm evening outings, washed down with a post-ride pint in the beer garden...
Summer!
Winter - roads/trails are quieter and usually get to enjoy an 'epic' of some description
Spring
Winter - no bell required due to sound of frying bacon from the studded tyres
Autumn for me. Crispy mornings with a nice big sunrise to make you remember why you love cycling so much.
Definitely Summer, I actually love sweating up hills .. really honestly.
Spring , burning off xmas Ibs , dreaming of summer sunshine and shortsleeves !!
Any as long as I'm on the bike!
Winter – less people about especially on the canal….
A dry snappy Winter's morning.
Autumn is the best. Cycling to work for a night shift with the sun setting across Morecambe bay. Just amazing on the few clear days with the colours of the leaves, sea and hills.
It's got to be winter; a couple of inches of snow and studded tyres
The perfect autumn morning... Fresh glow of the sun bringing alive the colours of the leaves, with not a cloud in the sky and the most delightfully refreshing breeze. EPIC!!!
without doubt summer. riding every day in the sun on quiet roads ..... or so I dream
Crisp sunny winter day
i like cycling best when i'm (whispers) on the sick!
Spring! It's not too hot, not too cold.
Spring. After the months of darkness and cold, you finally start wearing lighter clothing. And I love the day a take the fixed lights off the bike
Full-on winter: no more guesswork about how many layers to wear, just pile them all on. And not so many people on my commute.
Spring for me, crisp mornings best before things warm up too much. Can't ride in the evening, too full.
