Purveyors of some of the lightest, and most expensive, carbon fibre wheels, Lightweight is now offering a free Identity personalisation service so you can your name or words of choice laser etched on the rims.
The limited time offer is available until 22nd November, and Lightweight promises ordered wheels will be delivered in time for Christmas, making them the ultimate present idea for the cyclist who has everything. The offer applies to all three versions of the Meilenstein (tubular, clincher and Obermayer) and the Fernweg in tubular or clincher.
You could, says Lightweight, let your imagination go wild and choose different words on the front and rear wheels. They go on to suggest, rather amusingly, that one such combination would be to have ‘no pain’ on the front and ‘no gain’ on the rear. Quite. If anyone actually dares to do this, we want to hear from you.
The area you can customise is marked by the two white lines in the picture above. The shorter the text, the bigger the font size can be.
We rode the new Meilenstein Obermayer wheels in Eurobike, and you can read our thoughts on the wheels here. They’re one of the few sub-kilo wheelsets available, just 940g, and the company claims they’re stiffer than the wheelset they replace. The rims are 47.5mm deep section, there’s a new oversized front hub and updated spokes.
And the most intriguing update is the new laser etched decals on the rim, which saves 20g over stickers. This is why Lightweight is able to offer the customisation service.

"BYE-BYE" and "BUY-BUY"
How about " BACK " and " FRONT " ...
More like just a plain old you can't afford them.
"If you can read this"/"I've wasted a fortune"
Front: "All the gear"
Rear: "No idea"
Front: "Much cheaper"
Rear: "than a divorce"
How about:
Front Wheel: If you have to ask
Rear Wheel: You can't afford it
