How awful. I know that junction well - I cycle through it often.
It seems to be an accident blackspot as I came across a collision there between two cars not so long ago.
So sorry for the family and friends of the rider for their loss.
I came across this last night riding home from a TT. Without knowing any details the road surface at that junction is terrible. Certainly nearly came a cropper there a couple of times myself. Whether that played a part or not, it really needs to be repaired. RIP
"Cyclist killed in Cheshire crash involving two BMWs"
Come on RoadCC poor journalism. It should read "Cyclist killed in Cheshire crash involving DRIVERS of two BMWs and a bicycle" The cars (or the bicycle for that matter) didn't do it on their own.
At this point, they may not know whether any drivers were involved; available information may only be that two BMW vehicles were involved in the incident. The cyclist may have collided with two stationary vehicles for example. The Road.cc team seem to be pretty good at updating stories when more information becomes available and by using 'involved' makes no suggestion that the vehicles caused a collision (rather than their drivers). So maybe cut them some slack?
