Finally, the British summer arrived mid July, giving me the perfect opportunity to test BTwin's 700 Women's Sleeveless Cycling Jersey. Its bright colour scheme matches the 700 Women's Padded Cycling Shorts (review here) and Bib Shorts (review to come), which I've also been testing.

Not only is it sleeveless, but the jersey is made from a particularly thin polyester with a mesh strip up the back giving it a really lightweight, cool feel. The full length zipper gives you plenty of options for an aerodynamic fit or a cool half open zip for more ventilation. Around the rear of the waist hem it features a thick silicone gripper which is one of the most effective I've tried and held the base of the jersey nicely in place.

The rear of the jersey features three large pockets along with a fourth zip pocket large enough to store a collection of keys, money and other valuables, but just too small for most modern smartphones. For longer rides, the pockets are big enough to hold plenty of snacks, a waterproof jacket and a selection of puncture repair items. The only issue I experienced was that when the pockets were well filled with heavier items their stretchy material sagged a lot and bounced around while riding.

BTwin says that the jersey is slim fit, which it is, but if you are looking for a tight race fit I'd recommend sizing down. Don't be afraid of this since the stretchy polyester allows for a little extra here and there! I found the fit very flattering and comfortable with no excess bunching of material around the shoulders.

At a price just shy of £30, it's a jersey I'd happily buy as a lightweight summer top and would consider wearing it over a thermal into the winter months purely for the pocket space it provides.

The BTwin 700 Women's Sleeveless Jersey is designed for longer rides (upwards of three hours) with lots of ventilation and pocket space. It certainly fits the bill being cool and comfortable for all lengths of riding.

Certainly not overpriced, but equally not a bargain. Pretty much what I would expect to pay for everything this offers.

How easy is the product to care for? How did it respond to being washed?

I was a bit worried because the material is very light and thin, but in fact it has washed well and so far I haven't found any issues.

Really comfortable and light weight, so perfect for summer riding, and the rear pockets hold everything you need for longer rides. Does the job really well.

The pockets are made of the same lightweight fabric which is also very stretchy, so when you put too much weight in them they tend to sag.

Really enjoyed wearing this jersey and found it a flattering feminine fit. It's well ventilated and the pocket space and zip pocket are great for long rides. No major issues and it does everything that BTwin says it will.
