Lezyne's Sport Floor Drive pump uses its new ABS2 head for a leak-free fit on any type of valve without any faffing or changing, plus should you need to get 200psi into your tyres it's got you covered.

A lot of pumps these days have the option to work with Presta or Schrader valves, some requiring heads to be unscrewed or flipped, while others use a smart head that'll do both. The Lezyne is in the latter camp and the ASB2 head is really very good, and so easy to use on either type. You literally push the head over the valve, slide the anodised cover forward, give it a quick twist to the right and, voila! you're sorted and secure.

The Sport Drive is at the higher end of the pressure scale, apparently being able to achieve 220psi in total. That's something you probably aren't going to need unless you're riding the boards or you like whacking the tubs right up for a time trial on a super-smooth dual carriageway.

For more general use I squeezed 100psi into a set of 25mm tyres in a mere 28 strokes so it's certainly quick, though one thing I prefer about my usual go-to pump, Topeak's Joe Blow Elite, is the handle-mounted gauge. The Lezyne has a floor-mounted one, which isn't a major issue, but I would like to see a red needle or something to differentiate it against the rest of the readout.

As you can maybe tell, I'm scratching to find things wrong with the Lezyne as it is a very good pump.

I like the three-pronged base, made up of the two feet and the gauge, which gives a really stable feel to it when pumping up tyres.

The wooden handle is comfortable to use too, and the hose is plenty long enough wherever the wheel valve is sitting.

Value-wise the Lezyne is pretty well priced. The Joe Blow is a fiver more, while the Blackburn Piston 3, which has a head that requires switching for various valves, comes in at £52.99.

On the whole the Lezyne is a very good pump that should stand up to years of abuse.

I have the previous version. Must be about 4 years old now! I bought a new screw on chuck after the rubber ring went on the old one and the thread had gotten a bit crossed, and I've had to take it apart to clean the inner sleeve etc a few times to keep it blowing properly. I'd happily buy another. Bought a Lezyne mini pump for the missus too as I really like the chucks. Screw on is easier, for me, than clip on.

I have  the old one. Looked after it, a year in and the guage is just decorative. I reach for my 10 year old, £19 BBB floor pump every time.
