The Velo Senso Miles saddle is part of Velo's competition range, and at 260g it's just about light enough to be considered for a race bike, although you can go a lot lower than that. It's pretty comfy too, the flexible carcass and honeycomb gel padding doing a very decent job of filtering out the road.

For your £43.99 you get a plastic-bodied, Titanium-railed perch with a synthetic cover and gel padding. The most notable feature is the honeycomb design: lots of holes drilled through the entire saddle. The overall shape is long and flattish, with a fairly wide nose.

The Senso Miles is a pretty easy saddle to get along with, or at least that's what I found. Coming from a Charge Spoon it initially felt a bit flat and hard but after a couple of long rides I found myself warming to the shape. I'm not sure how much extra airflow the honeycomb holes provide but the seat stayed comfy in some pretty hot conditions, and the holes soften the padding at some crucial points too. The base of the saddle also has enough flex to add a bit of extra comfort.

For less than £50 for a Ti-railed saddle it's good value too, although my personal preference is still for the similarly-priced Charge Spoon Ti that the Velo replaced on my bike: it's a bit rounder and just fits me better. That'll be going back on, but the Velo Senso Miles might suit your behind just right: as always, try before you buy if you can. A female version is available too.

The charge spoon doesn't suit my ar$e so might give this a go. Looks ok.

Velo make pretty sound saddles. Not sure how comfy this saddles is. I am not too convinced it is. After a few saddles, comfort and a selle italia gelle race saddle (which was a killer) I have the Velo 2107 which is true scooby doo. I wear no shamy and after a few hours of ride my bottom and privates are A ok. It's a streamlined race saddle with a claimed weight of 293g but there are sites who say its even lighter. Whatever the case, I find its a perfect balance of comfort and race. As a matter of fact, it's the best saddle I have ever sat in. And a satisfied bum is my top priority 1 . This saddle is it. Pity no one sells it in UK. 2
