The guys from Primal Europe came visiting road.cc HQ the other day to show us the spring/summer 2017 range, and here are the highlights. It might be a touch cold to be wearing short sleeves for a while, but it’ll be available soon.
Inertia QX5
QX5 is Primal’s top level performance clothing. The jersey (£100) is made from a lightweight, 3D patterned polyester fabric that’s designed so that only about half the surface sits on your skin. It has mesh panels and compression sleeves that are positioned slightly forward relative to the jersey body, designed to sit well when you’re in a riding position.
The shorts (£175) come with a new TMF Italian chamois.
Orange You Glad Helix 2.0
The Helix 2.0 jerseys, which come in a slim Pro Tour cut, have laser cut sleeves for a low profile fit and a zipped pocket in addition to the usual three cargo pockets at the back, features that the previous Helix jerseys didn’t have. The Orange You Glad jersey (£90) is covered in a banana print. Thankfully, the shorts (£135) aren’t.
Aü Helix
The Helix jerseys (£80) don’t get the laser cut sleeves or zipped pocket of the Helix 2.0 but you get the same fit, mesh panels and a full-length zip. The bib shorts (£130) are made with flatlock stitching and have silicone leg grippers.
Trigger Happy Evo Jersey
You’re either going to love the Trigger Happy design or run a mile in the opposite direction. Evo level jerseys (£65) come in a race fit, slightly roomier than a Pro Tour cut, and still come with mesh panels, a full length zip and a silicone waist gripper.
The matching shorts (£90) feature a four-layer E6 Carbon chamois.
Feel The Burn Jersey
This jersey (£50) comes in a sport cut that’s designed with recreational riders in mind. It has been upgraded with a zip pocket at the back that’s big enough to take your mobile phone. The text on the right sleeve says ‘Burn calories, not fuel’.
Got Lemons? Jersey
Got Lemons? is a Helix level women’s jersey (£80). As well as lemons, those are bees on there.
Glimpse Jersey
This is a four-way stretch Evo jersey (£65) in a race fit with mesh underarm, neck and side panels.
Accessories
Primal is offering a range of arm warmers (£20), socks (£8) and caps. You might not want to go full colour on everything, but a bit of mix and match could look cool.
All of these products will be live on www.primaleurope.com soon.
