You can get treadmills which alter the incline, there's a some which which work with Zwift IIRC. Of course the *really* big ones that you can put your bike on as well would make things even more fun in general....
I dont think its a smart treadmill in as much as it changes your incline or speed - rather that you do that and it tell zwift what you're doing. So like the powermeters we have on the bikes.
Imagine the chaos if a bug in the program told your treadmill to run flat out....
So whats this 'run routes' all about then? Are there 'smart' running machines that can be linked up to?
There must surely be mileage in all these games getting together. Imagine a combination of Forza/Gran Turismo, Zwift and Fortnite, all on one platform at the same time.

Aye, and there's running sensors (Styrd, Garmin, Milestone etc) that you can use with dumb running machines to give speed and/or power estimates amongst other things.
