Should we be surprised that Pinarello has launched a gravel bike? The Italian brand might be better known for its considerable Tour de France success and long history of road race bikes than off-road exploits, but it just goes to show how important many brands see the adventure and gravel movement that they need a suitable bike in their range. 

The Grevil is an aero gravel bike which draws heavily on the company's Dogma road race bike, with many shared features and tube profiles. There's a concave aero down tube,  odd-looking "Forkflap" to apparently smooth air over the brake caliper, profiled headset spacers and an internal seat clamp. A lot of the curves in the rear triangle are due to the asymmetric approach that Pinarello also applies to its road bikes. 

Tyre clearance is generous as you'd expect of such a bike, the Grevil accommodates 650bx2.1" tyres or up to a 42mm on 700c rim. It's disc brakes naturally, with flat mount disc brakes and 12mm thru-axles with full internal cable routing. It's also 1x and 2x compatible.

The model we have is specced with a Shimano Ultegra mechanical groupset with hydraulic disc brakes, and rolls on  Fulcrum 650B 0DB7 Racing wheels with Vittoria Terreno Zero tyres. Price is £4,500.
