Five cool things coming soon from Van Rysel, Vitus, 7Mesh, Lusso and Sportful

Some of our top picks from the road.cc test pile this week, with reviews coming soon...

The clocks go back this weekend, so make the most of your last not-quite-so-dark commutes home! Here's what's on top of our testing pile this week...

7Mesh Mission jersey

£144.99

7 Mesh Mission Jersey LS - riding.jpg

7Mesh say the unique grid structure in this jersey creates stable air pockets that hold warmth, making it ideal for the days when it's not quite full on jacket weather but it's too nippy to go for short sleeves. 7Mesh also claim the voids in the grid allow moisture to transfer to the outer face for evaporation, which results in a comfortable jersey that maintains a warm, dry environment on the inside. Did it keep our reviewer toasty? Find out early next month.

Vitus Razor Disc VR

£749.99

The 2020 version of the Vitus Razor Disc comes with a full Shimano Sora 9 speed groupset, cable disc brakes and Vitus' own wheels and saddle. Tyres are the plush Vittoria Zaffiro in a 28mm size for taking on battered British roads, and the geometry of the Razor is almost identical to the carbon-framed Zenium. Is it ripe for racing, or better utilised as a nice winter steed? Stu Kerton's review is coming soon.

Lusso Aqua Pro Extreme jacket

£164.99

Lusso Aqua Pro Extreme Jacket - chest.jpg

Designed for use during 'the coldest of days' according to Lusso, the front of this jacket is quilted and is also breathable and waterproof, with a 360° 3mm reflective cover and waterproof zipper. Lusso's Windtex Storm Shield fabric is thermal, windproof and water repellent and the neck is high to prevent any ingress. There's also four rear pockets for stashing your stuff. Alex Bowden is waiting for an arctic blast so he can get testing...

Van Rysel RR 900 AF

£849.99

When it comes to stonking good value, Decathlon's Triban and Van Rysel have some of the most appealing prices around while still being renowned for producing some quality bikes. The RR 900 AF is entry level in the Van Rysel lineup, yet still features a full Shimano 105 groupset. The 105-level brakes are direct mount for some aero gains, and cable routing on the 1.4kg aluminium frame is internal. Interestingly the Van Rysel Ultra Evo Vario fork is a carbon/aluminium mix, which is said to be "an ideal choice for perfect synergy" for the frame. Check back next month for our reviewer's full verdict.

Sportful Speedskin Silicon Bootie

£45.00

Sportful Speed Skin Silicone Bootie.jpg

This is the second generation of Sportful's Speedskin overshoes; and although they started out as being recommended for TT's, they're also totally waterproof so can also be utilised on mild, rainy days to keep your feet protected from a deluge. The taped seams and YKK rear zipper totally stop any water ingress, and the cut of the silicone-coated Lycra fabric is high to limit water entry and give you some extra aero gainz if that matters to you...

Jack has been writing about cycling and multisport for over a decade, arriving at road.cc via 220 Triathlon Magazine in 2017. He worked across all areas of the website including tech, news and video, and also contributed to eBikeTips before being named Editor of road.cc in 2021 (much to his surprise). Jack has been hooked on cycling since his student days, and currently has a Trek 1.2 for winter riding, a beloved Bickerton folding bike for getting around town and an extra beloved custom Ridley Helium SLX for fantasising about going fast in his stable. Jack has never won a bike race, but does have a master's degree in print journalism and two Guinness World Records for pogo sticking (it's a long story).

The 'FRONTAGE' of this jacket? Affrontage more like. Does it provide parking, pavement & bike racks like the the shops in town? No, thought not.

I think Jack meant to say front.
