Shimano’s second-tier Ultegra groupset is one of the most popular groupsets for good reason: it strikes a really good balance of performance, weight and price. And because of that, it’s a common sight on many road bikes across a broad spectrum of prices.
The latest R8000 version is the best yet. The six bikes in this video are all equipped with the very latest Ultegra groupset and includes rim and disc brake variants of the new groupset.

David worked on the road.cc tech team from 2012-2020. Previously he was editor of Bikemagic.com and before that staff writer at RCUK. He's a seasoned cyclist of all disciplines, from road to mountain biking, touring to cyclo-cross, he only wishes he had time to ride them all. He's mildly competitive, though he'll never admit it, and is a frequent road racer but is too lazy to do really well.
