I'm in: both team and DS name is (surprise surprise)
The Domestique
Ds Name - shutuplegs
Team Name - Avengers:Age of Nick!(mens)
- Ladies 1st(womens)
Also remember that National Championships score 100 points for a win (nothing for a place). I did well out of Impey when he won his National Championship, cheap riders who can score in one or two races could be strong picks. Also, riders who had a poor year last year (Boonen, Schleck, Gilbert etc) can be had for less now but are obviously risky.
Oh, and points are weighted towards GC and one day races. The drop off for placing in stage race finishes is pretty harsh, only the first five on a grand tour stage will score so picking a rider who gets a lot of top 10s but no wins won't do you any good.
I had that problem at first, but gone for likely stage winners on the flat, with a fair few 2 and 1 credit riders, and riders you wouldn't necessarily pick for big races. For example, Stetina will race ToC, and could finish top 10, same for Deignan, Arrendondo
Sounds good i'll take a look and let you know
Yeh, ive picked my team but not submitted
Just one thing to note if you're interested in playing, you don't have to submit your team once picked, you can add riders then chop and change up to the deadline. The readers of the site, http://www.podiumcafe.com/ , tend to get about as excited as road.cc users do when it comes to picking teams so there'll be plenty of analysis and threads over the next couple of weeks offering tips.
Depending on the takeup this year I might throw together a draft version of this next year.
Both my DS and team name are TERatcliffe26
I too will give it a go
I will have a look later and should give it a go (already have a squad like this in ProFSL)
