Thanks for the replies. I understand the issue now.
It's pretty obvious that there needs to be some way of specifying the subset of rider info you want to search (e.g. name, nationality, team etc). The obvious way to do this would be a dropdown list next to the search text box. Should be a really quick fix which would eliminate this bug. Any chance it can be implemented?

3 letters usually only looks at team name or nation i.e. OPQ and GBR
