A good, long-term strength regime. Just basic compound movements, based around achievable lifts and workout loads. I don't use it myself, do more barbell complexes and bodyweight work, but I've got different fitness goals - I'd find it difficult to fit 5/3/1 around running and riding. There's a decent guide over at T-Nation, and some very knowledgeable people as well on their forums.
